Entry Information and Rules
Below are the rules and guidelines regarding entry into the Shutdown Showdown Virtual Jackpot Show. Please note that any deviation from these rules will be grounds for disqualification with no refund. A link has been provided to both the entry site on Showworks as well as a link to some sample videos to be used as a reference
Entry Information
Shutdown Showdown is open to all youth in the state of Oregon 21 years of age and younger as of January 1, 2020
Entry will open on May 11th at 10am and close on May 18th at 12pm noon
Judging will be from May 19-22 with results announced May 23rd and 24th
Entry Fee $25, per entry
Sheep, Goat, and Swine females are eligible to be shown in both market and breeding, but they will need to be entered twice as they are separate entries.
Top 6 market placers per species and top 6 breeding placers per species will be recognized
Market and Breeding Champions will receive $150
Market and Breeding Reserve Champions will receive $100
The highest placing market steer tagged for the Linn County Youth Livestock Auction will receive an additional $50
Video Rules
1 video per entry
60-90 seconds cell phone video in horizontal (landscape) orientation
Needs to be continuous video, no cutting or editing of video
No filters
Exhibitor must wear appropriate show attire
Animals must be presented in show ready condition as if they were entering into the show ring
No sound in video
No feed sacks, banners or farm signs in the video
Only the animal and the exhibitor in the video
Need to see all angles of the animal and on the move, as well as a full view of the exhibitor
(Suggestions: start from a standing position, film all sides, walk in a straight line, then stop on profile to end video.)
